PLAYGROUND RULES

 
    1. Play it safe
    2. Play fair, have fun, be a good sport
    3. Be considerate, be cooperative
    4. Share with each other
    5. Be polite to students and adults
    6. Wait your turn
    7. Explain all rules before you begin a game
    8. Welcome newcomers to your game
    9. Do NOT exclude others – “you can’t say, you can’t play”
    10. Wear safe footwear for outdoor recess and equipment
    11. Balls on blacktop or grass fields only
    12. No sticks, no stones, no sand, no acorn/wood chip throwing
    13. Ask permission to leave the area and report back to the adult
    14. No game of “Keep Away” (hats, gloves, etc.)
    15. Cartwheels, tumbling and other gymnastics are not allowed
    16. If hurt, tell the adult on duty
    17. Stay off wet equipment
    18. No “cat walking” on outside ledges of equipment
    19. Stay out of leaf piles
    20. Flag football only
    21. No bats, lacrosse sticks, or hockey sticks allowed
    22. No climbing trees, fences, or fire escapes
    23. Be aware that dangling strings on clothing/shoes and chains are unsafe
    24. Leave games and discussions on the playground; when recess is over, so are the games and discussions.
